Rhonda Barnet has over three decades of experience as a female trailblazer, achieving great heights in male-dominated industries and institutions. A STEM graduate in mathematics, she is a successful executive, entrepreneur, and director, as well as a key voice in Canada, and around the world, on industrial policy, skills of the future, and diversity. Barnet was recently appointed CEO of Palette Skills, a national nonprofit focused on meeting the needs of Canada’s most innovative companies by upskilling workers from diverse backgrounds to transition into new industries. Barnet has held various positions in her manufacturing company, AVIT Manufacturing (formerly Steelworks Design Inc.), including VP Finance, President & COO, and Chair of the Advisory Board.
Vanessa Ferreri

DEVON GIRARD

Prior to joining Community Futures Peterborough, Devon led the Women’s Entrepreneurship Strategy at Northumberland Community Futures Development Corporation, where she founded StrikeUP Canada, Canada’s largest digital conference for women entrepreneurs, securing over $200-thousand annually in corporate revenue. She previously served as Director of Marketing and Communications at a local firm in Peterborough and spent close to a decade in various senior roles in the British Columbia government where she led large-scale projects for the 2010 Olympics, as well as serving as a political advisor to the Premier and Minister of Economic Development. Devon was also a Board Director of CFP and held positions of Governance Chair from 2017-2020 and Vice Chair in 2020 until she left the Board to work for nearby Northumberland CFDC.
Dawn Hennessey
Senior Client Partner, Advisory Services, BDC
Dawn Hennessey, a graduate of McMaster University, has enjoyed working with entrepreneurs for the last two decades. Professionally, she has been in the Corporate Finance & Advisory industry for almost 25 years and has spent almost 20 years with BDC. Currently Dawn is a Senior Client Partner supporting SMEs with their growth aspirations; technology needs, strategy, and overall business performance. Dawn also sits on the Ontario Diversity & Inclusion Committee at BDC to help ensure that various groups unique business realities are identified and find solutions to support them. Outside of her work she regularly volunteers with various organizations, enjoys skiing and golf and spending time with family & friends.
Martina Linde
Spa Operator, Elmhirst's Resort
Martina was born in Germany and came to Canada at age 24. Her interest in alternative medicine started at age 13 when she made her own tinctures (herbal remedies). Martina has a 4-year diploma in Traditional Chinese Medicine from the College of Traditional Chinese Medicine and Pharmacology Canada and the Institute of Traditional Medicine. Her studies included acupuncture, Tui Na massage, nutrition and herbalism.
DR. LYNN MIKULA
President & CEO of Peterborough Regional Health Centre
Dr. Lynn Mikula is the President & CEO of Peterborough Regional Health Centre. After starting at PRHC in 2011 as a staff general surgeon, she was later appointed as Chief of Staff, Chief Medical Executive, and Executive Vice-President accountable for medical affairs, risk, and patient relations. Prior to assuming the CEO role, Dr. Mikula served as executive lead for PRHC’s COVID-19 pandemic response and executive sponsor for the hospital’s long-term redevelopment strategy, and spearheaded numerous quality improvement and physician engagement initiatives.
Maryam Monsef
CEO & Founder of ONWARD
Maryam Monsef is the founder and CEO of Onward, where she lends her skills as a public speaker and consultant to causes and leaders she believes in. She is a new mom, former Cabinet Minister and you can see her on CTV’s Power Play with Vassy Kapelos. Her life began as a refugee, leading her to community organizing and to Canada’s Parliament, where she drove impact for social and economic justice files in Canada and around the world. She has led public policy files at the highest levels. In 2018 and 2019, she was recognized by Apolitical, along with Ruth Bader Ginsburg, Michelle Obama and Malala, as one of the Top 20 global influencers on gender equality.

JEANNINE TAYLOR

Jeannine Taylor has a lifetime of experience in marketing, media, and communications, and over 25 years specializing in digital marketing and website development. She founded the first local online media site Quid Novis in 1996, which is now known as kawarthaNOW.com. Her awards include Peterborough’s Business Woman of the Year, a Premier's Award nomination, the Maryam Monsef Peterborough Kawartha Women in Leadership Community Award, a City of Peterborough Civic Award for chairing the development of Millennium Park. Jeannine is a 2023 inductee to the Peterborough Pathway of Fame. Jeannine's combination of technical, communications, marketing and social media skills are put to work daily as Publisher of kawarthaNOW. As a grad of the Arts Administration program at Fleming College, JT is committed to supporting the local arts sector, is a two term member of Peterborough’s Arts Culture and Heritage Committee. She is a staunch supporter of the arts as well as a promoter of feminism and female entrepreneurship.
